Here are the highlights from this week:
Earlier this week we met with a new family enrolling their child to be matched with a mentor. We are currently seeking a mentor from an 8 year old boy who is very smart. He appreciates structure, but enjoys playing chess, video games, playing soccer, and reading. Mentors interested can complete a mentor application at www.rusckinship.org or contact our office for more information.
This week we are preparing for our Give to the Max Day "Why Mentoring" photo campaign. We are seeking folks who support our program who are willing to take and share a photo as shown here with 5 words or less of why mentoring is important to them. This photo entries will help us with our Give to the Max Day campaign coming up in November. Give to the Max Day is the largest online giving day in MN. Last year we raised $10,000 and we are hoping to do the same. We already have a generous donor who has committed a $5,000 as a donor challenge to help us reach this goal! Please consider taking a moment to submit your "Why Mentoring" photo to firstname.lastname@example.org or on our Facebook page.
In addition, I attended a MN Kinship Affiliates meeting in Little Falls, MN where fourteen out of the fifteen affiliates in the state of Minnesota were in attendance. This was a great time to share ideas, and feel the support our mentoring network through the state. Together we are making a difference. Each one of us--that is a great reminder any day of the week.
Until Next Week,
