Between selling Pizza Ranch pizza, pop and water, and our "Make it a Plate" option in addition to RibFest we brought in just short of $1000 to support our mission to provide mentoring opportunities for the youth in Stevens County. We are so thankful for all of the folks who helped us with these efforts: those who volunteered over the weekend, donated towards the food, and came out to support us at the events. We appreciate all of you!
Over the weekend we received another new youth enrollment while we were at East Side Park! We are excited to meet her and her family soon.
To keep our fundraising momentum going, we are continuing to promote our Community Patio Project over this summer. Next week we will be tabling at Willies SuperValu in Morris on Wednesday(11am-1pm) and Thursday (4-6pm) so you can pick up some information on your way through the grocery store. We are also preparing for our booth at the Stevens County Fair which is just right around the corner.
As a part of our program, we aim to help connect the youth in our program to the communities they live in. A way that we do this is to provide opportunities for them to build relationships. On Monday evening, we were lucky that the stormy weather held out long enough for us to enjoy our first Mentor/Mentee Mingle at Pomme de Terre Park. We had six of our mentoring matches, board members and some family members of our mentees/mentors join us for a picnic, fun and games! We look forward to many more activities like these!
Until Next Week,
