- This week we were preparing for our Quarter Kraze event coming up tomorrow from 10-1 at the Morris Legion! We have been working on food, decorations and promotion! For those of you who are still wondering what the event is all about we hope you will come check it out, but here is a little more information for you: "What is a quarter craze, you ask? You purchase your bidding paddle(s) (a donation to RUSC), and then you are able to bid on items, shown to the crowd of potential bidders. If you choose to bid, you put your quarter in the bowl, and raise your paddle. (If you want to bid more than once on an item, more than one paddle is required) A number is drawn, and if it matches the number on your paddle, you WIN! The auction is estimated to take about one and a half hours. We have 40-50 items to bid on! "
- We continued meeting with local business owners and community members to share the opportunity to "Sponsor a Match" for $1000/year or to "Sponsor a Child" for $500/year. We are still seeking community investors!
- We spent Tuesday evening at Chokio-Alberta school during parent/teacher conferences to share some information about the program with the students, parents, and staff at the school. We are still recruiting mentors and youth participants!
- On Thursday morning we spent the morning with some folks from Community Action at Pizza Ranch to learn about their Group Cares Camp coming up in June. This year there will be around 250 teenagers housed in Herman, MN for a week to complete home improvement projects within 30 miles of Herman. We look forward to supporting the youth and volunteers working on these projects. The program is looking for volunteers to host a site, donate, and apply for services. We hope to see you all tommorrow!
Until next week,
